The Lifetime Distance award recognises riders for the accumulated distances that they achieve in endurance rides, regardless of weight division, through their riding career.  To receive this recognition the rider should complete the Application Form and send to the AERA Distance Registrar:

Please Note:
(1) Unaffiliated, introductory and intermediate rides are NOT counted.
(2) Unsuccessful rides (vet outs, withdrawals etc) are NOT counted.

The first level of recognition shall be 10,000 km with subsequent recognition at 5,000 km intervals.

Bronze Award for 10,000 up to 20,000 km
Silver Award for 20,000 up to 25,000 km
Gold Award for 25,000 up to 30,000 km
Platinum “Enduring Legends” Award for 30,000 km and over

Awards of 10,000 km will be presented at SMC nominated events, 15,000 km plus distance scrolls will be presented at the Tom Quilty each year. As with Horse Distance Scrolls it is requested that Riders apply for these awards on the attached application form. Please ensure that applications for awards for 15.000 km and above are lodged prior to the date on the relevant form to ensure they are ready for presentation at the Tom Quilty Gold Cup AERA Awards Presentation.

It should be noted that all previous applicants do not need to re-apply as your application forms will be processed accordingly now.

It has become apparent the merging of three data bases to create AERASPACE has created some rider distance anomalies. Jo Bailey the AERA distance registrar is working her way through errors as they are brought to her attention. If you have identified any anomalies in your ride record please complete the  AERASpace History Discrepancy Form

All who were expecting recognition and those who are wondering if they are there, should go into AERASPACE and check their distance and advise Jo Bailey of any anomalies ASAP, please email
