(1) Unaffiliated, introductory and intermediate rides are NOT counted.
(2) Unsuccessful rides (vet outs, withdrawals etc) are NOT counted.
The AERA is pleased to announce a Lifetime Distance recognition award for riders who achieve significant distances during their endurance careers.
The first level of recognition shall be 10,000 km with subsequent recognition at 5,000 km intervals.
Bronze Award for 10,000 up to 20,000 km
Silver Award for 20,000 up to 25,000 km
Gold Award for 25,000 up to 30,000 km
Platinum “Enduring Legends” Award for 30,000 km and over
Awards of 10,000 km will be presented at SMC nominated events, 15,000 km plus distance scrolls will be presented at the Tom Quilty each year. As with Horse Distance Scolls it is requested that Riders apply for these awards on the attached application form, the cut off date for this year for 15,000 plus is 30/06/2020.
It should be noted that all previous applicants do not need to re-apply as your application forms will be processed accordingly now.
It has become apparent the merging of three data bases to create AERASPACE has created many rider distance anomalies. Jo Bailey the AERA distance registrar is working her way through errors as they are brought to her attention.

Scrolls are available as follows:
AERA Certificates of Merit are presented at 2,500km intervals over and above 5,000km (7,500km, 10,000km, 12,500km etc). Scrolls for distances of 3,000km and above are awarded at the Tom Quilty each year, all other scrolls can be applied for at any time. Please ensure that this application form is lodged prior to 30th June 2020 to ensure that they are ready for the Tom Quilty Gold Cup 2020 (Western Australia) presentations.
