AERA have now formed a COVID-19 Working Group consisting of Linda Tanian (Chair – VERA), Mark Dunn (TEERA), Kerry Fowler-Smith (NSWERA), Kim Moir (QERA), Sioux Reid (VERA) and Sarah Dumbrell (WAERA). The role of the Working Group is to:
- Identify the challenges and opportunities presented by the COVID-19 virus and its impact on endurance riding in Australia
- Determine possible solutions to the issues identified
- Communicate and work with the Division Associations to provide support where required
- Prepare a recovery plan for endurance to recommence following the lifting of government enforced regulations
The first activity to be conducted by the Working Group has been to organise a meeting with all Division Associations. This meeting will be held within the next week, once a date is agreed. The purpose of this meeting is to provide an open forum for discussion of the impacts of COVID-19 for each state, where the states are heading with their planning and an understanding of what support might be required from AERA.
Regular communications will be provided on the progress that is being made and an initial communication has been posted, on social media, relating to information resources that are available.
